Our Participant of the Month is Sebastian!
Sebastian went through our Job Development program to find a job. He’s now working at the Hilton with the support of a Job Coach. Sebastian’s job developer was thrilled with his “hard work, diligence, and dependability” and his employer said that they take “much pride in being an inclusive and diverse workplace with incredible leaders who mentor young adults.”

Q:What led you to reach out to OOD for services?
A: My Bexley High School transition counselor Libby helped me connect to Kelsey at OOD to find a job.

Q:Why is it important to you to have a job?
A: To help me find something to do after I graduate from school, keep me busy, and help my siblings out too.

Q: How is getting/having a job going to change your life?
A: It allows me to save money, help my family out, and have fun

Q:What challenges or problems did you have to face to get your job?
A: Transportation to work and obtaining COVID vaccinations required for the job

Q:How did Greenleaf help you with these challenges?
A: OOD provided me with a bus pass, and Greenleaf took me to my interviews, the Health Department for COVID vaccinations, and my drug test.

Q: What advice would you give to others who are nervous about looking for a job and working?
A: Work hard, do your best, and never give up.

It takes a village, and Sebastian built himself an extensive one. Most importantly, Sebastian’s hard work, diligence, and dependability spoke volumes of his deep desire to find a job.
