Thank You for Saying “Yes” to Our Special Evening!
We are delighted to announce that our October 17th annual fundraiser was an outstanding success, raising an impressive $20,365 through ticket sales, sponsorships, ads, donations, a raffle, and a silent auction!
This memorable night was made possible by the incredible support of our partners, including JPMorgan Chase, Licking Memorial Hospital, Dee Marks, Libby V, and United Midwest Savings Bank.
A special thank-you to CABA and HW&Co for their generous ad contributions. We are deeply grateful to Mark Tomallo and Margaret Finley for their powerful presentations on disability inclusion and to our wonderful emcee, Lachandra Baker, who guided the evening with grace. The theme, “Say Yes to Possibility,” captured the spirit of our mission and the joy of the evening.
At Greenleaf Job Training Services, we’re committed to empowering individuals with disabilities to find meaningful employment. Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who contributed to this event and to those who continue to support Greenleaf’s mission. Together, we’re making a real difference!
Growing Partnerships with Southwestern City School District
This October, Empowering Employment expanded its partnership with the Southwestern City School District to include the Southwestern Career Academy. Now, 55 high school students receive weekly instruction, focusing on critical skills for success.
At Franklin Heights High School, students have been enhancing their self-advocacy skills, while those at the Career Academy are diving into professionalism in the workplace. As we look forward to November, we aim to extend this valuable programming to other high schools within the district.
Spotlight on Social Skills: Breakroom 101
The first session of Spotlight on Social Skills: Breakroom 101 was a success, serving four individuals and their families. This training was also presented to interns at Dublin Methodist Hospital’s Project Search, offering essential workplace social skills to prepare them for professional environments.
Serving Adults Across Multiple Counties
In addition to working with high school students, Empowering Employment supported 17 adults in Franklin, Licking, and Pickaway Counties this month. Many individuals worked toward personal goals, including improving computer skills, accessing assistive technology, opening STABLE accounts, and applying for apprenticeship programs.
Looking Ahead to New Partnerships
With October’s successes behind us, we’re excited to continue growing our community reach in November, particularly through our new collaboration with Petals That Inspire’s FLOURISH Program. Stay tuned for more updates as we work toward expanded partnerships and community impact!
