Who We Are

Greenleaf is a non-profit organization that supports job seekers who need assistance to find and keep meaningful employment by providing career exploration, vocational training, job search assistance and ongoing support. We partner with inclusive employers to provide opportunities to the individuals we work with.

What We Do

We coach individuals at every skill level and customize our services to meet their unique needs and goals, understanding that one size does not fit all.

Our history

Greenleaf Job Training Services was founded in March 1995 by Jennifer Kuntz when she was working as a job coach in the special education department at Worthington City Schools. She helped students obtain employment as part of their curriculum, but realized many struggled to retain their jobs over the summer break.

Trying to bridge the gap, Jennifer spent one summer working as an independent youth job coach for the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Agency (OOD). The following year she started Greenleaf. Since then we have helped thousands of job seekers of all ages make progress toward their employment goals while improving diversity among business teams.

Aimie Rieder

Aimie Rieder joined Greenleaf JTS in December of 2020 as an Employment Specialist. In May 2021 she was promoted to Trainer for all Greenleaf Staff and then to Training Manager in September, finally being promoted to Development Manager in November 2023. Prior to Greenleaf, she was a hairdresser for over 8 years, spending over half that time in management roles. Over time she realized that she enjoyed the business development and interpersonal relationship side of cosmetology and it ignited her passion to help people. She received her Bachelor's in Social Work in 2024 and has plans to obtain her master’s degree. Through these experiences, she has become a strong advocate for others and wants to do what she can to ensure they can overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.

Dan Woodburn

Daniel Woodburn began working with Greenleaf in July 2016. His prior experience in vocational rehabilitation includes two and a half years with Goodwill and two years with AmeriCorps at the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. Originally from North East Ohio, he studied philosophy and anthropology at Kent State University. Dan relocated to Central Ohio with his lovely wife and two children. He has extensive Project SEARCH experience with Greenleaf, coaching at Dublin Methodist Hospital and our Adult Project SEARCH program at Eldorado Scioto Downs. When the program concluded in January of 2019, Dan joined the Project SEARCH program at Licking Memorial Hospital. In June of 2020 Dan was promoted to the position of VR Manager.

Joy Jones joined Greenleaf in October of 2016 as the Department Assistant in the VR Programs Department and then served as the Services Coordinator. She was promoted to Operations Manager in 2022, then VR Manager in 2024. For the previous 8 years before coming to Greenleaf she was a stay-at-home mom to her 3 kids who keep her very busy. She worked with children in the evenings coaching gymnastics. Prior to staying home she worked at a handful of real estate title agencies. Over the course of 9 years she became very proficient in the title business performing everything from start to finish that was needed to close a transaction.

Kate began her career at Greenleaf in September of 2010 as a Job Developer. Kate graduated from Syracuse University in 1999 with a BFA in Musical Theater Performance. During her tenure at Greenleaf, she has also worked in Customized Employment, achieving A.C.R.E. Certification. She previously served as our Director of Programs, overseeing all of the VR programs and personnel, including the Job Developers and Job Coaches. Kristofer recently joined Greenleaf in June of 2023 as the Administrative Assistant, and was promoted to HR Manger in December of 2023. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Strategic Communications from The Ohio State University, and is a self-described "people person". Kristofer is incredibly passionate about learning all manner of things and spends his free time reading. Equally important to him is volunteering, as Kristofer consistently donates time and money to social justice reform for marginalized communities. Kristofer hopes his time at Greenleaf will allow him to learn more skills, as a recent graduate he is excited to begin his career path. Hoping only to help people while learning and growing as a person.

Kristin Schaub, CRC

Kristin Schaub joined Greenleaf in October 1999. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree, summa cum laude, in Sociology from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Services from the Ohio State University. She is also a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. Kristin has worked extensively in the Vocational Rehabilitation field, with experience and expertise in Vocational Evaluation, Community Based Assessment, Job Seeking Skills Training, Job Development, and Job Coaching. Kristin started her career as a Job Developer/Job Coach and most recently served Greenleaf as the Director of Operations. Kristin initially became interested in Vocational Rehabilitation through volunteer opportunities while at BGSU. She has found the most rewarding aspect of the work to be seeing people gain confidence and achieve things they never thought possible, all while encouraging and mentoring others along the way. This is truly an organization and a profession where staff and participants alike can “pay it forward.” Kristin lives in the Columbus area with her family, including the 4-legged variety, and is an avid runner and adventurer.

Stacey joined Greenleaf in November 2020 as the Administrative Coordinator. She earned her Bachelors in Music Education from The Ohio State University. She then moved to Washington, DC with her marine husband where she taught K-6 General Music while stationed there. After moving back to Ohio she moved into administrative work before coming to Greenleaf. She was promoted to Data and Content Manager in March 2022, then the Administration Manager in June 2024. She enjoys spending her free time with her husband and dog, Cleo, singing, reading, flying on aerial apparatus, and playing video games.

Anandita Newman

Anandita Newman started at Greenleaf in June of 2022. She joined as an Employment Specialist for Summer Youth and Project SEARCH. Anandita is a student of Psychology at The Ohio State University. Prior to Greenleaf, Anandita worked as a chemical dependency counselor’s assistant at First Step Recovery Center, a student caller at Ohio State, math/science tutor, and volunteered with several non-profit organizations, such as A Kid Again and Sourcepoint. Her main passion is to offer support to people of all backgrounds. Anandita hopes to pursue a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and provide rehabilitation services to children, teens, and young adults.

Angie recently returned to Greenleaf as a Job Developer. She enjoys working with people to assist them with achieving their goals.  Angie comes from a multifaceted background and brings those experiences to Greenleaf.  When she is not at work, Angie is working on her farm training horses and raising cattle.

Betty Gensel joined Greenleaf JTS in August 2019. She comes with a Master’s in Business Administration and many years experience as a Business Advisor with the Women’s Business Center in Maine. Betty also managed a workforce development program for fourteen years, connecting potential employees with businesses looking for workers. The impact of a quality workforce on business success and sustainability drives her work to match motivated workers and businesses. One of her favorite quotes, “Sometimes we believe in people before they believe in themselves to help them build self-confidence.” Betty had visited the Columbus area quite frequently before moving here to be near her family.

After graduating from Columbus State in 2013 with a degree in Health Information Management, he began working in the medical field and has experience working with many diverse populations, including involvement in adaptive sports and support networks in Central Ohio. His passions include traveling and playing wheelchair rugby and wheelchair tennis.

Dana Sherfield joined the Greenleaf staff in December of 2020. In the past she was a preschool teacher for over 10 years at multiple daycare centers. She has also done Americorps. Before that she had an internship at the Eddie George grill after she graduated from broadcasting school.  The reason she joined Greenleaf is because she feels she can give back to those who have felt like her in the work force seeing how she’s  an individual with a disability. She wants to bridge that gap so companies can see the person as person; not their disability but their abilities because we are humans first.

He comes to us from Columbus Recreation & Parks' Therapeutic Recreation department where he served as a Therapeutic Rec Aide. Deidre joined the Greenleaf community in July of 2024 as a job coach. She has two children, a 16-year son and 11-year-old daughter. They relocated from New York five years now. She looks forward to all the new knowledge that she will obtain interacting with the staff and participants here at Greenleaf. Some of the things she enjoys are nature walks with her kids, reading and visiting the different parks throughout Ohio.

In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, attending live concert events, and reading.

Holly Shipley joined the Greenleaf JTS team in August of 2022 as the new job coach in Licking County. Her prior background consists of ten years in the food service industry and fifteen years of being a lead teacher for daycare centers. Holly received her Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Bowling Green State University. Holly has always had a passion for showing others how to do something new and watching their success with a moment of what she calls a lightbulb moment. In her spare time, Holly enjoys playing with her six-year-old outside and to relax every day with a picture to color.

Leah Watkins, CESP, joined Greenleaf in November 2016 as an Employment Specialist. Her prior background consists of being an Activity Director at a local Nursing Facility and prior to that a Recreation Therapist at a Mental Health Hospital. Leah received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Therapy from Indiana State University. Leah and her husband moved to Columbus the beginning of 2015 and enjoy exploring the Columbus area. Leah enjoys helping people find something that gives them purpose in their life.

Loria joined the Greenleaf team in December of 2020 as an Employment Specialist for Project SEARCH at Licking Memorial Health Systems in Newark, Ohio. She retired from The Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Division of Domestic Relations and Juvenile Branch in 2019, after thirty three years. The majority of those years were spent as supervisor of the Court Stenographers office in the Juvenile Court Branch and then as an Evaluation Specialist.

She was raised and lives in Johnstown, Ohio. Loria loves fun in the sun and can do without these Ohio winters.

Marck is a 41 year old native of Columbus, Ohio, graduate of Beechcroft High School, and Columbus State Community College. He majored in small business management with the entrepreneurial focus. His previous work experience has been with Columbus Parks and Rec working with individuals of amazing abilities as well as the general public as a recreational aide. He’s also had experiences as the Social Media Manager with Viaquest helping to manage their social media platforms. He is a boccia athlete for Team USA currently ranked second in the United States, and serves as an athlete representative with USA Boccia and the US Paralympic and Olympic committees (in addition to sitting on the board of directors for USA Boccia). He is also an assistant coach for the Freshman, JV and Varsity basketball teams at Eastmoor Academy. After all of this, Marck still manages to find spare time to be a spectator of his favorite teams as well as listen to the music he enjoys. In Marck’s own words, he is “more than excited to be a part of the Greenleaf team, and I’m living my dream from an employment standpoint. I look forward to using my skills and abilities to impact Greenleaf and the people we serve.”

Melissa joined Greenleaf in May of 2015. She has served as a Job Coach, an Employment Specialist, and now as a Project SEARCH Employment Specialist. Prior to starting at Greenleaf, Melissa spent time raising her family. Once her children were off to college, she went back as well. After earning a BA in Social Work from Ohio Dominican University, Melissa began working for people with differing abilities as a job coach to assist her consumers in gaining and keeping employment. In April of 2015, Melissa obtained her Social Work license in the State of Ohio. Melissa believes that everyone should be able to do anything they want in life regardless of their differences.

Prudie Wray joined Greenleaf JTS in July of 2018. She came to us with a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Christian Theological Seminary, Indiana. Prior to joining Greenleaf JTS, she worked several years as a Non-Medical Counselor to active duty military and their dependents. She says she sees her career in Social Services as a natural flow from when she first began work in Public Assistance then transitioned into Child Protective Services; from CPS to Family Preservation; Family Preservation to developing and administrating Healthy Families Johnson County, from which she transitioned to volunteering for the United States Peace Corps in Romania. Prudie moved to Ohio to be near her family here where she enjoys the frequent company of her 5 local grandchildren. She also travels to visit her family abroad as often as she is able.

Skye received his high school diploma from Campbell High School in Litchfield, NH, and is currently studying astrophysics at Ohio Wesleyan University. Suzanne joined Greenleaf in 2023.  She holds a B.A. in Organizational Communications from The Ohio State University and worked for over 15 years in the field of Human Resources, specializing in Recruitment and Employee Relations. More recently she obtained an Alternative Resident Educator Licensure through the Ohio Department of Education as an Intervention Specialist.  She also served for one year as a Reading Tutor with AmeriCorps.   Suzanne enjoys working as a job coach helping teens and young adults learn valuable employability skills.

Todd Williams joined the Greenleaf JTS team in February of 2020 after spending over 20 years working in virtually every facet of the employment and recruitment industry. He began his career with a top national firm, building a productive full-cycle search and placement practice. Todd was then promoted to training manager and later launched his own firm. He eventually decided to bring his employment experience into the vocational rehabilitation field. Todd is a native of Grandview Heights and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism from Ohio University. He spent his early career as a news reporter and still does free-lance writing on the side. He enjoys expanding his horizons with new activities and adventures, and experiencing life with his two daughters.

Charlene Bridges

Board Member

As Senior Director for Slalom, Charlene brings to bear over twenty years of experience leading complex programs and diverse teams while driving communications, strategy, and business transformation initiatives for major institutions. Throughout her career, Charlene has been a driving force for change and equity, focusing on tactical ways organizations improve how they hire, engage, and develop their teams. Charlene holds a BA in International Relations and a master’s in international management. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Change Management Advanced Practitioner (CMAP). Charlene and her husband John have two teenagers. When time allows, she can often be found either reading or traveling.

Christine Morris

Christine Morris is currently the Digital Resources Manager at the Ohio Public Library Information Network (OPLIN), bringing her interest in digital inclusion and former nonprofit management experience to serve the Greenleaf JTS Board. Christine holds a BA in Economics and International Studies from Bowling Green State University, an MLIS from Kent State University, and an MA in Public Policy and Management from Ohio State University. When she is not enjoying a good book or a road trip to visit family, Christine also enjoys spending time with her husband Jeremy and their teenager Connor at home.

Board Chair

Dee Marks is the founder and current president of Dublin’s Special Education Advancement Council (SEAC). SEAC is a parent group established to help other parents of children with special needs learn how to effectively advocate for their child’s unique needs, to collaborate with the schools and their community in order to better support all children with disabilities, and to provide educational opportunities which empower parents. With her strong background in special education law and ability to foster positive communication, she provided support for families who resided in Central Ohio in her private business, DEE Services, LLC. This experience ultimately became a natural transition into her current position as an Ohio Parent Mentor for Dublin City Schools. 

In 2008, Miss Marks became involved with the Association for People Supporting Employment First (APSE). Working with the other members of APSE, she endeavored to achieve fulfilling, competitive employment in the community for the people that APSE is committed to supporting. She served as Treasurer of Ohio APSE for 5 years before being elected as Co-President in 2012. Previously, she was Chair for the Ohio Association of Adult Services (OAAS) and Ohio APSE Conference Committee and has served on the following committees: National APSE Chapter Development Committee, Dublin City Schools – Business Council, Dublin Community Action Network (CAN).  Miss Marks continues to serve as a consultant providing expertise on how to make their programs more inclusive at Ohio State University and the Center for Science and Industry (COSI). She is on the governing board for The Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities (OCECD), is the treasurer for the board of We R One Community (WeROC) and looks forward to sharing her board experience and disability awareness as a board member for Greenleaf JTS. 

DeShawn Toney

Deshawn Toney

Vice Chair

Deshawn Toney currently serves as Deputy Director of Economic and Workforce Development of Fairfield County. She has worked in non-profit for over 17 years, working both in direct service and management. Deshawn earned her degrees from Franklin University (B.S.) and University of Phoenix (M.A.). One of the things she has built is a reputation for being able to motivate individuals of all ages and abilities to be successful both in their pursuit of education and employment.  True to her commitment to excellence and advocacy, Ms. Toney recently earned her certification as a Certified Employment Support Professional and is a current member of the NAACP. In 2020 she was inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS).

Drew Link

Treasurer

Drew Link joined the Human Resources Department at Licking Memorial Health Systems in 2014 as a Wellness Specialist, and was promoted as a Recruitment Specialist, then Director of Recruitment and Retention.  He currently serves as the Director of Business Operations.  In 2016, he was named a Licking Memorial Health Systems MVP.  Drew is also a member of the Greenleaf Job Training Services Board.  He was born in Newark and graduated from Granville High School.  He attended Walsh University in North Canton, Ohio, where he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration degree.  Drew and his wife, Mary, have three children, Mary, Owen, and Gracie.

Janae Miller

Board Member

Janae Miller is the Founder and Managing Principal of Sight Unseen, LLC, an organization providing corporate training for companies looking to hire individuals with disabilities. She holds a bachelor's degree in Communications with a minor in Sociology from Wright State University. As someone who lives with vision and hearing impairments herself, Janae is an experienced diversity, equity, and disability inclusion speaker and trainer. She has stated that her impairment is an opportunity for innovation, and she has given over 20 years of talks. Janae is committed to ensuring that the world is sensitive and inclusive when it comes to employing and training people with various disabilities, particularly those with vision and hearing impairments. Throughout her career, she has served on numerous boards and committees charged with addressing diversity, equity, and what she refers to as "complete inclusion" of all persons with disabilities, as well as concerns within government, corporate, and non-profit organizations and sectors. Janae is also involved working and singing with the Harmony Project and is a certified trainer for Windmills, a program influencing employer attitudes toward disability inclusion.

Rupal

Rupal Ramesh Shah

Secretary

Rupal Ramesh Shah is a public health professional with master’s degrees in microbiology and public health. She has worked on global health projects in South Africa, Tanzania, and Haiti. Originally from Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Rupal is passionate about social justice initiatives and has often worked on community initiatives that support and empower local people. Rupal has also been writing about issues surrounding homelessness, and her publications can be found in street newspapers nationwide.

What do your services cost?

For most participants, our services are completely free with a referral from Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities or a Medicaid waiver from their local board of Developmental Disabilities.

No, we are not a staffing agency or placement firm. We do not charge a fee to the potential employees or businesses we serve.

While we do match qualified individuals with disabilities and other obstacles to employment opportunities, we thoroughly vet our participants and work with them to be the leaders in their own job searches.

Ultimately we want them to develop the skills and knowledge to be able to successfully land a job on their own.

How do I get services from Greenleaf?
