Thabet- Participant Feature

Our participant of the month is Thabet!

Thabet was nominated by his job coach, Taren. She says that he “has been the most hardworking and dedicated person I’ve ever come across in my life (no exaggeration). Thabet had a goal to obtain full-time employment with benefits. Of a total of about 7 applications, he was invited to interview with 5 employers. 5 out of 5 offered him a job on the spot. 2 of those 5 offered him an increased hourly salary than advertised for the positions because of the great rapport. Thabet has such a determined spirit to achieve his goals, all while maintaining an easygoing demeaner. Based on feedback from the employers, they’ve described him as an ideal candidate and all-around great guy. I feel personally inspired by the amount of commitment and drive he has shown throughout the job seeking process.” We are all so proud of Thabet!

What led you to reach out to OOD for services?

I needed help finding a job to support my family.

 

Why is it important to you to have a job?

I have a house and wife. I needed benefits for my family and future children if I chose to have them.

 

How is getting/having a job going to change your life?

It allows me to do the things I want to do. I am able to connect with OOD, Greenleaf and others that have helped me to be successful and reach my goals.

 

What challenges or problems did you have to face to get your job?

The whole process is hard but Greenleaf was there to help me and I am thankful for that.

 

How did Greenleaf help you with these challenges?

Taren my job developer helped me with applications, interviewing and getting the job. She helped with everything I asked.

 

What advice would you give to others who are nervous about looking for a job and working?

Connect with the people at Greenleaf because they are good at what they do. My job developer listened to me and helped me find what I was looking for.
