Participant Spotlight: Kimber’s Journey to Independence
After seven successful years at Open Arms, Kimber decided it was time for something new.
With support from Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), Kimber found her next role as a Doggy Daycare Attendant.
Kimber loves how having a job gives her:
- Purpose and freedom
- The ability to stay active and enjoy structured breaks
- Independence to take care of herself
Even when faced with challenges, like learning how to trim a dog’s nails just right, she tackled them head-on with the help of Greenleaf.
Kimber’s advice to others:
“Give it time—it may not go smoothly at first, but it will work out!”
Kimber’s positivity, perseverance, and passion for growth make her an incredible example of what’s possible when you say yes to new opportunities.
